Iran thrash India 3-0 to top Group d in world cup Qualifiers
Iran football team beat India 3-0 in Group D of the 2018 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday. Sardar Azmoun opened the scoring in the 29th minute in the match held at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore, India
Andranik Teymourian found the back of the net in the 47th minute and Mehdi Taremi made it 3-0 two minutes later. Earlier in the day, Guam and Oman played out a goalless draw. Iran moves top of Group D with seven points. Oman and Guam are second and third with seven points each.
The 2018 World Cup qualifiers double as a route to the 2019 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates which is expanding from 16 to 24 teams.
